About Mrs. Brenton
I have been married for 24 years and have 2 beautiful children and a Yellow Labrador Retriever. We have lived in the wonderful town of Hampton for 21 years. I grew up in the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island, and I visit there whenever I can.
I have been a teacher at Dr. Leatherbarrow for 12 years. Teaching Physical Education has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I love what I do and am very fortunate to work in such a wonderful school with terrific students, families and staff members.
In 2011, I was named as the District 6 PE Teacher of the Year. I was also honoured to run in the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay. Earlier in the year, I received a Celebrate Wellness Award in the category of Physical Activity. In 2010, I was very proud to be a member of the committee that built our beautiful Jeremy Shaw Memorial Playground. Previously, I was a Wellness Facilitator for ASD-S; I'm still part of my school's wellness committee.
When I am not teaching, I can usually be found running the roads or trails in Hampton, out on my road bike, or at our cottage for boating in the summer or snowmobiling in the winter. I've recently learned to stand-up paddleboard. What a beautiful activity. I also enjoy just being with my family and friends. Being active and acting as a positive role model for my family, as well as my students, is very important to me. I would rather wear out than rust out!!!
