Kids of Steel ClinicsIs your child interested in the sport of triathlon? Maybe just looking to expand on a set of skills and fitness? Or even just challenge themselves? Join local experts Garth and Helena Millar, with support of Mrs. Brenton and Mrs. Blanchard, to learn about and train for, the Hampton Kids of Steel event taking place June 2. Each session will begin at 6:00 pm and be 1 hour long.

Who We Are

A little bit about the coaches: Helena and Garth are seasoned veterans in the sport of triathlon competing in races all over the world. Garth recently competed in the World Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii in October 2018. Mrs. Brenton, PE teacher at DATL, completed the Youth Community Coaching Workshop for Triathlon through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in 2017 and the Level 1 Triathlon Official course in 2018. She has participated in many triathlons and duathlons of varying distances. Mrs. Blanchard, principal of HES, is also an active triathlete taking part in many races of varying distances.

The Kids of Steel Triathlon race will be held on Sunday, June 2 the week prior to the Hampton Ladies Triathlon You can find online registration info at www.atlanticchip.ca. Only $19 if you register before May 19.
MAXIMUM Race distances are based on age: 5 & under: 25 m swim, 200 m run (shallow end) 6-7 years: 50 m swim, 500 m run (shallow end) 8-9 years: 100 m swim, 1 km run 10-11 years, 200 m swim, 2 km run 12-13 years: 300 m swim, 3 km run 14-15 years: 500 m swim, 5 km run |
